About Kirana

The physics of hope

Kirana was born from a simple belief — that creativity is not a luxury, it is a lifeline. For children facing isolation, illness or abandonment, a paintbrush can be a voice, a colour can be a feeling, and a warm session can be a sanctuary.

Our Foundation
Mission & Vision

Mission

To reduce isolation, encourage self-expression, build creative skills, and improve emotional wellbeing in children facing difficult circumstances through creative experiences rooted in a combination of both contemporary and traditional arts.

Vision

To contribute towards fostering a world where every child, regardless of their circumstances or background, has equal access to opportunities, feels seen, emotionally supported and is empowered through creativity.

Current Phase
Year 1

Moving intentionally, because we want what we create to last

We are currently in our pilot phase, working with government schools, and hospitals, in Hyderabad. This is Year 1 — the research, learning and building phase.

Current Project Goals

Weekly Art Sessions

Structured, warm and creative sessions at partner spaces. Traditional and contemporary art forms, crafts, storytelling through colour. No formal training needed — just presence, warmth and creativity.

Wellness Kits

Personalised kits for children undergoing long-term treatment. Art supplies, comfort items and creative activities so that a child has something that says — someone thought of you.

Fundraising & Events

Pop-ups, cultural evenings, art exhibitions and collaborative displays to sustain the sessions and kits — and bring the community into our world.
